Rub Smokehouse – Cock n’ Waffle Night

Manny and I love Rub Smokehouse, it is one of our favourite places to eat and we have never been disappointed. If you haven’t read our previous 5 star review you should and you can find it here.

As you can imagine, we were over the moon when we saw the all you can eat Cock n’ Waffle event was coming to Nottingham: how could we not go?! …it was also 241 on cocktails which certainly helped!

As soon as we arrived we were reminded of what a great place Rub Smokehouse is; the restaurant was bustling and busy with a wonderful atmosphere. Great music was playing and everyone was laughing and having a good time. Even the staff were enjoying themselves and we spotted a waitress wearing a t-shirt saying “lick me till ice cream!”

The chicken and waffles were really yummy and covered in lashings of a tasty mystery sauce and syrup. Not only was the chicken delicious, the chips that accompanied it was scrumptious and seasoned to perfection.

We both finished our first plate down to the last chip and decided we were ready for more. For the second plate, I decided to try the vegetarian version in which the chicken was replaced with halloumi: YUM!
On the night, there was also a competition to Win £100 worth of Rub Smokehouse vouchers for whoever finished the most plates of food – once Manny got wind of this he was determined to win! The record in Birmingham currently stands at twelve… Manny managed two and gave up, showing he isn’t quite the man he thinks he is when it comes to food.

The staff were also great, particularly Alyssa, who made sure the food came at a reasonable pace and was always up for a chat and ready to engage with the customers making the experience at the restaurant that bit better.

We had a lovely evening and would 100% recommend visiting Rub, especially on a night like this – we can’t wait for the next one!
