The Rum House, Nottingham

Manny and I were both in Nottingham and fancied trying out somewhere new to eat. We wanted to try and avoid spending a lot so decided to see if there were any local places where we could use our Tastecard. (If you don’t know what a Tastecard is, you can find out here!)

We discovered a little place described on the website as ‘Nottingham’s hidden gem’ offering a 2 for 1 deal on all of its dishes and after looking at the menu online we decided to go for it.

The restaurant is small with a great atmosphere and the menu is made up of small, Caribbean  inspired dishes. We ended up ordering four to share and everything was delicious. A particular highlight was the pulled pork dish which was sooooo yummy!

There was also an extensive menu of cocktails, lots of them rum based surprise surprise, but as Manny doesn’t drink and we were in money saving mode we both just stuck with water – (Hopefully we will go back again and can find out how nice they are!).

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our  food and it was nice trying a few dishes! The restaurant had a great feel to it, and it is definitely somewhere I’d like to go back to. We both highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Nottingham!
