Oryx Desert Salt – A Review

Oryx Desert Salt

This December, Oryx Desert Salt, a brand new product, was launched in Sainsbury’s across England and we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try it out.

Okay, so you might be thinking, what can be so good about salt, isn’t it all the same?! Well no, it’s not.. continue reading and I will tell you what makes this salt so different.

Oryx Desert Salt with Fajita's!

Fajita night with Orxy Desert Salt gift pack

Oryx Desert Salt is sundried and unrefined and it contains important minerals such as magnesium, zinc and potassium, provided in a balanced way so they can be absorbed for optimal vitality and health. If that wasn’t enough, the salt source is sustainable and the grinders and cotton bags are recyclable. AND, the best part (well I think so), for every bag of salt sold, a donation is made to the Khomani San and Mier communities in South Africa.

As well as the traditional salt, you can also get a gift pack that not only includes a bag and grinder full of the traditional Desert Salt, but also two more grinders full – one of smoked salt and one of wine salt which we had never seen before. Needless to say, we were excited to try it!

It was a great addition to our fajita’s and we have been using it ever since receiving it. The salt has a great flavour, however we did not think that the smoked salt and the wine salt had a particularly distinguishable taste.

Having said this, the gift pack is presented in a lovely way and would make a great present!

Want to try it yourself for free? We are giving away two mini salt sets featuring a cotton bag of fine salt and a grinder filled with the normal salt. Want one? All you have to do is fill in the form below…

The salt is being sold at Sainsbury’s & can also be found on Amazon & Ebay.

Please note, this is not a paid post but we were gifted with an Oryx Salt gift pack.
